Alberta Health recommends that the updated Reusable & Single-Use Medical Devices Standards be applied in all health care facilities or settings where health services are provided, including privately operated community-based health care settings and home-based businesses.
These Standards replace the Standards for Single-Use Medical Devices: As Applied to Critical and Semi-Critical Medical Devices, previously released in 2011, and the Standards for Cleaning, Disinfection and Sterilization of Reusable Medical Devices for all Health Care Facilities and Settings, previously released in 2012.
