November Council Meeting Activities

January 8, 2020

At their November 2019 meeting, Council:

Had discussions about:

  • guiding principles
  • professional liability insurance
  • trends in legislation
  • conflicts of interest including creating a council member register of interests

Elected new Officers for the 2019-20 term:

  • Lisa Rahimi, President
  • Jolene Moore, Vice President
  • Elaine McKay, Treasurer

Made revisions to:

  • Governance Policies GP1 and GP2 – wording changes for clarity
  • Registration Policies RP7 – removed “place and remove periodontal surgical dressing” from the Prosthodontic Competencies
  • Registration Policies RP8 – rescinded
  • Registration Policies RP14 – removed the requirement that a Criminal Record Check be submitted as an original or notarized copy

Granted Provisionally Approved program approval status to Daher Institute for Education Inc. Dental Assistant Distance Delivery Program

Reappointed the chairpersons and members of the competence and registration committees
