On March 16th, the BC Government announced 30 new cases of COVID-19. In their Joint statement on BC’s COVID-19 response and latest updates, the BC Government states:
“A significant number of new cases are related to the Pacific Dental Conference 2020 held at the Vancouver Convention Centre on March 6 and 7, 2020. We are asking anyone who attended to self-isolate until March 22, 2020.”
Dr. Bonnie Henry, BC’s Provincial Medical Health Officer, said, “We also know that cases have been identified from that conference in other provinces across the country,” including Alberta.
“My instructions are that anyone who was at that conference needs to self-isolate immediately. They should not be at work. They should not be at school. They should not be around others. This is the critical time where we are seeing people show up ill from that conference.”
