Our 2023-24 Annual Report includes our activities
between June 1, 2023, and May 31, 2024.
During the past year, our focus has included learning and enhancing our regulatory relationships and partnerships to achieve our Strategic Plan.
Cultural safety has held significant importance in many activities. We have drafted Patient-Centred Practice criteria to add to our Standards of Practice. The proposed criteria will address cultural safety as a part of dental assistants’ daily practice. Additionally, Council and staff participated in several learning activities to enhance our ability to practice cultural safety and humility as we regulate the profession.
Always striving for regulatory excellence, we are engaging consultants to conduct third-party reviews of our key functions. Our Competence and Communications Program reviews are complete and we are working on implementing recommendations. Next, Council has approved a review of our Governance Framework.
We are committed to continuing our work on behalf of Albertans, always keeping safe, ethical dental assisting care at the forefront.
