You can help to ensure that future dental assistants are competent to deliver safe, quality oral health care.
As a member of our Program Approval Committee, you will contribute to:
- maintaining clear and effective standards for approving dental assisting programs and courses
- ensuring the dental assisting programs and courses in Alberta meet those standards
Ideally, Committee members will:
- understand the College’s regulatory mandate and program approval role
- have experience in educational methodology and recognizing best practices in adult learning
Committee members take part in committee meetings and training workshops to support their role. The Committee reviews dental assisting education principles, and program approval policies and procedures. By applying the principles and policies, the committee evaluates approval status of Alberta dental assisting programs and courses.
