Regulations and Standards for Dental Assistants in Alberta

Health Professions Act

The HPA regulates all self-governing health professions. It requires all health professional colleges to follow common rules to investigate complaints and set educational and practice standards for registrants.

Dental Assistant Profession Regulation

The DAPR sets out high-level rules including the categories of dental assistants we register, registration requirements and protected titles.

Standards of Practice

Our Standards provide general direction regarding all aspects of a dental assistant's professional practice.

Code of Ethics

Our Code provides guidance to dental assistants to reflect on their own practice and ethical conduct.

Bylaws

Our Bylaws guide the function and structure of the College.

Policies

We have several policies that define how we do things like processing registrations and protecting private information.

Privacy

We collect, use and disclose information in compliance with the Personal Information Protection Act.
