Since our September 2025 update on Council activities, Council met once for their regular meeting in October. These are Council’s activities since our last update:
Approved
- purchasing errors and omissions insurance
Adding this coverage to the College’s corporate insurance will protect the College if a claim is made because a client or customer feels they were harmed as a result of professional services or advice. This is a proactive measure in light of the general increase in insurance claims across Canada.
Discussed
- competencies required for the Chair, Vice-Chair Governance, and Vice-Chair Finance roles on Council
Participated in
- a presentation about corporate insurance coverage
Reappointed
- Chelsey Dudley, registration number 7071, to Council for a two-year term, and Kaitlyn Johnston, Registration number 14241, to Council for a three-year term
Five candidates submitted applications for the two available spots on Council. However, one candidate was ineligible. The Appointment Committee interviewed the four eligible candidates and found reappointing Chelsey Dudley and Kaitlyn Johnston to be in the best interest of the College. The Committee suggested that the other candidates may benefit from committee experience to help prepare them for a future role on Council.
Regulated members are typically appointed to Council for three-year terms. Since Chelsey Dudley has already served four years, Council adjusted her appointment to two years to stay within the six-year maximum defined in our Bylaws.
