Appointment Committee
Our Appointment Committee (AC) is a governance committee that helps us run our organization. This committee reports and makes recommendations to Council but does not have authority to make decisions.
The AC indirectly supports our regulatory work by assisting with the merit-based appointment process we use to recruit and select regulated member councillors.
Committee Members
Joshua Jackman, Public Member of Council
Kaitlyn Johnston, Regulated Member of Council
Joanne Briske, Regulated Member at LargeÂ
Committee Activities
- review and evaluate candidate applications using the established rubric
- create a short list of candidates
- interview short-listed candidates
- present list of recommended candidates to Council for consideration
Committee Structure
This committee has a very specific structure as follows:
- one Public Member of Council
- one Regulated Member of Council
- one Regulated Member at Large
The AC will be appointed before Council Appointments start and disbanded after the available positions on Council are filled.
If you’re interested in joining the committee
Thank you for being interested in this committee. When there are positions to fill, you will find instructions and an application form here.
We typically accept applications for this committee in the spring if there will be Council Appointments later the same year. However, we may accept applications at any time if there is a need.
In the meantime, if you have questions, send us a message. Tell us which committee you’re interested in and what you’d like to know.

Also helpful:
Meetings
The AC meets as needed to review applications and conduct interviews during the September/ October recruitment period. Meetings are mainly virtual, during evenings and weekends. AC members need access to reliable internet and appropriate technology to participate in committee business.
Expenses and Compensation
Committee members may claim expenses, including travel, accommodation and salary replacement. Committee members are not employees of our College – this is a volunteer role. However, they may claim honoraria for attending meetings and other required functions. Our expense policy lists all eligible expenses. It is in our Governance Policies at GP7.1.1.
