New video resource
We have created a new video resource: CCP Part 2: Self-Assessment, Learning Goals and Record & Reflect. The video will help dental assistants complete their Continuing Competence Program (CCP) learning plan in the CADA portal.
The video provides a step-by-step walkthrough of the learning plan process, including how to complete the self-assessment, create learning goals, and record and reflect on completed learning activities.
Your continuing competence requirements may look a little different this year, depending on your situation. Some returning registrants will see their proposed 2025/2026 learning goals already moved into the new portal and may not need to complete the self-assessment this year. New registrants, and registrants without transferred learning goals, will complete the full process beginning with the self-assessment.
What the walkthrough covers
The walkthrough helps you understand what to do before you begin, including:
- completing the self-assessment
- planning learning goals
- saving your work
- uploading verification
- answering reflection questions
- submitting your completed learning plan when all requirements are met
Why CCP matters
Completing the CCP helps dental assistants reflect on their practice, identify meaningful learning goals, and demonstrate an ongoing commitment to safe, competent, ethical care in the public interest.
The CCP improvements make the program simpler, easier to navigate, and more meaningful while continuing to support lifelong learning. This supports safe, competent practice and people-centred care, while also advancing our strategic priorities to strengthen continuing competence, stakeholder trust, and clear, accessible regulatory processes.
Before you begin
We encourage all dental assistants to watch the new video before working on their learning plan in the portal. If you have questions, please contact the College for support or join one of our live Continuing Competence workshops.
