Public members play an important role in conduct matters by helping bring fairness, accountability, and the public interest to tribunal and committee decisions.

The Government of Alberta is recruiting public members for its Tribunal Roster of Public Member under the Health Professions Act. This roster helps health regulatory colleges, including ours, appoint public members to hearing tribunals and complaint review committees for conduct matters.

This is a meaningful way to support fair decision-making and public confidence in professional regulation. If you know someone who would bring sound judgment, a public perspective, and an interest in serving Albertans, please encourage them to apply. Applications are open until July 1, 2026.

At our College, these tribunals and committees include public members from the government’s roster and dental assistants from our own roster. Together, they support fair and informed decision-making in the public interest.
