We’re a regulatory college responsible for regulating the profession of dental assisting in the public interest. Under the authority of the Alberta Government and the Health Professions Act (HPA), our role is to ensure Albertans receive safe, competent and ethical oral health care from dental assistants.
We regulate the profession by:
- setting professional and ethical standards, including a Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice
- registering dental assistants and authorizing them to practise in Alberta
- overseeing practice and responding to concerns about care
- holding dental assistants accountable for the care they provide
This work is all guided by the College’s mission, vision, and values.
