Anyone who is interested may apply to join our Program Approval Committee. If you know someone with an education background who might be interested, please share this information with them.
What does the Committee do?
The Committee helps to ensure that Alberta dental assisting programs and courses offer education that effectively prepares dental assistants for practice. This may involve:
- reviewing applications for new programs and courses
- reviewing applications for changes to existing programs and courses
- recommending that approval status be granted or removed
- monitoring approved programs and courses
Am I eligible?
We welcome all applicants. This committee is open to dental assistants and others.
A background in education is highly beneficial to this role. However, if you are a current employee of a dental assisting program, or have worked for a program in the last two years, you will not be eligible to apply.
