Public Members and Regulated Members on Committees and Tribunals

Public members play an important role on the panels that conduct complaint reviews and hearings. They provide perspective that is external to the profession as a measure toward protecting and serving the public interest in these proceedings.

As required by the Health Professions Act, at least half of a complaint review committee or hearing tribunal must be public members.

When we appoint people to a complaint review committee or hearing tribunal, we appoint public members from the Government’s Tribunal Roster and regulated members of our College (dental assistants) from our HT/CRC Roster.
