We need volunteers for these committees:

  • Governance and Nominations
  • Finance, Risk Management and Audit
  • Registration
  • Competence Committee

What do these committees do?

Governance and Nominations

  • recruit candidates for Council and committees
  • regular review governance policies and recommend changes/updates to Council as needed
  • regular review Bylaws, Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics and recommend changes/updates to Council as needed
  • most work is done by email with occasional conference calls or in-person meetings

Finance, Risk Management and Audit

  • oversee College financial systems
  • identify and mitigate risks to the College, patient care, the profession and health care in general
  • review financial policies and procedures
  • oversee development of the annual budget and make recommendations to Council
  • meet with the auditors and recommend audited financial statements to Council for approval
  • 2 in-person meetings (budget and meeting with auditors)
  • email review of monthly financial statements with occasional conference calls as needed

Registration

  • review registration policies and recommend changes/updates to Council as needed
  • review program approval policies and recommend changes/updates to Council as needed
  • provide advice on program approval submissions as needed
  • review registration decisions when needed
  • most work is done by email with occasional conference calls or in-person meetings

Competence Committee

  • review competence program policies, including program requirements and audit requirements, and recommend changes/updates to Council as needed
  • review the Competency Profile and recommend changes/updates to Council as needed
  • review competence audit results
  • guide the evaluation and on-going evolution of the Competence Program
  • most work is done by email with occasional conference calls and an annual in-person meeting
